Three

Today Lola turns 3.

The first time I got to hold her post c-section
Three years ago I became the Mommy to the most amazing, wonderful baby girl.
Having Lola that was the catalyst to change-
The change that I needed to live a healthy and happy life.
Being her Mommy has been the greatest thing I have ever done in my life.
I cannot believe how blessed I am to have such a smart, happy, vibrant little girl.
Each day with her is just sunshine and rainbows-

Just hours old

I really think I have learned more in the last three years than I have during any other time of my life.
I never really knew LOVE until I had my daughter.
100% honest, raw, selfless love.

I never really knew happiness-true joy-until I took the time to find out what really was important in life.

The paycheck it not important.
It's not about the car you drive.
Or the label on those jeans you're wearing.
The designer of the hand bag you carry matters not.

If you want to feel rich, just count all the things you have that money can't buy

There are things in life that are priceless-
the way her chubby little hands would grip my fingers
the twinkle in her eye while playing silly games
That smile....

Oh that silly smile of hers

it really is about the simple things in life.
We thought we would sacrifice so much when I left my job so I could stay home and be a Mommy to Lola.
and we did-material things.
But those things do not matter in the long run.

Life is good.

and then there are the friends

real friends

loyal friends

who love you warts and all

Who :get: you

your crazy days, your quirks
the things that make you-YOU

"Life is full of fun once you stop caring what other people think"

The last three years have been amazing.
wonderous
full of learning
growth
discovery

Who knew you could learn so much from a baby??
Well my baby is now growing into a big girl.
Three.
WoW

I love you more than peanut butter Lola

Wishing Lola the happiest of birthdays. It is so cool that she has a mom who can stay home and spend good quality time with her because before you know it school will be here and Jen, you've had the opportunity to make tons of memories that working moms don't get. Lola, you lucky girl, have a FABULOUS birthday!

I just love the pic in the tub with her hair all up. That is awesome.

And Lola, if Mommy loves you more than Peanut Butter that is saying something. It may not mean much to you now but when you start training for your first Ironman you will know what that means.

Tremendous Jen, just tremendous.

Happy Happy Happy Birthday LOLA!!!!!!! My little Lola-Bean -- you are growing up to be JUST like your Mama! Kind, generous, positive, and full of LIFE and POSSIBILITIES!!!

You owe it all to your Mama! Never forget that she loves you MOST in the world. You are so darn lucky. You don't have to look far to see the most amazing role model ever. Just by example, she has instilled in you the value of hard work, passion, courage and a deep, deep, deep sense of "anything is possible."

While she may be YOUR mommy, she is MY best friend and I LOVE her to death. I am so proud to just to know her.....warts and all. :)

One of my favorite poets e.e. cummings once said,
"It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are."

Your mommy has soooooooooooooo much courage it leaks out and then you get some, and I get some and anyone around her gets some too.

Take it, hide it and hold onto it realllllly realllllly tight! It will be there when you need it some day.

This post made my day. I think kids teach adults more than we think. They are SMART and make us think. I've not yet had kids but this post makes me want to!!! You and Lola are so cute. I love, love, LOVE the name Lola.
