Let's CELEBRATE #TuTusRock

Ahh, this little SELF issue really blew up thanks to social media and you all sharing this story.
I am DELIGHTED to see all of the good that is coming from this blunder by SELF.

Monika Allen is seeing that an entire community of runners and women are behind her and rallying to cheer for her! Her business GLAM RUNNER has seen a HUGE influx of business (she can't even keep up!) and the attention to GIRLS ON THE RUN has increased. Virtual runs are kicking up all over the place!! Fundraising for cancer and GOTR all over are increasing....GOOD GOOD THINGS.

Being one to focus on the POSITIVE!!! Let's CELEBRATE all the good things that are running, getting healthy and LIFTING ONE ANOTHER UP UP UP!!

Let's SHARE our LOVE of being active with tweets, FB shares, Instagrams and Pins of everyone getting out, moving and SMILING!! Tag 'em #TuTusROCK!!

From GLAM RUNNER's FB page:

Thank you everyone for the overwhelming support! While we were hurt by SELF Magazine's use of our photo in their magazine, instead of bashing them for their mistake we'd like to embody the Girls on the Run San Diego spirit and show our solidarity with our positive response. Do something awesome and dedicate it to Glam Runner - post an encouraging quote on Facebook, go for a run in your neighborhood, shout encouragement to runners on the street, or wear a tutu in your next race. Help us share why ‪#‎tutusrock‬!

VLOG: Rev 3 Adventure Race

You did get a chance to read about the Rev3 Pre-show, right?
Well, I have more pre-show leading up to the Maine Event (which is the race report).

Saturday morning was a little crazy and I found myself running around more than I had hoped.
I had so many friends visiting and I really wanted to just hang out with each of them but there was just not enough hours in the day to do everything I wanted to.

The afternoon was going to be jam packed with stuff at the Rev3 race site and Lola would be doing her first Rev 3 Kids Adventure Race and I was pretty stoked.

Here's my attempt to get Lola to talk about the race but she had other ideas (as usual).

So here are some pics from the race (courtesy of Scott at Train Fat Boy Train
Make sure you check out his version of events race report!

Now Scott seems to think that Lola is trying to cheat here by getting an "edge" on the other racers.

Scott's POV: You can see in this picture Jen's child already trying to get an advantage over everyone else by starting over the line.

Clearly, this is not the case. She is simply stretching her hamstring out before her rocket like take off at "GO". I mean, really...she's the smallest one there!!

Again, Scott claims this occurred: My child..the law abiding one..showing Jen's daughter where her feet should be. Also note how seriously Kristien and Jen are mapping out their path to victory.

It's obvious that Laila noticed that Lola was lucky #19 and her Dad was red green with envy.

In the end, all of the kids won because it was FUN. But here are the First, Second and Third Place Teams.

It was all about TEAM WORK!!
and as a team
we smoked everyone else by a lot of minutes...

I'm pretty lucky to have good friends. Really good friends.
Did you know that after Timberman my friend Marc stayed and got me an autographed visor from Chrissie?? and also got an Iron*Girl sticker and had that autographed by Chrissie and Rasmus Henning?

I had NO IDEA he did this and he did not mention it until he saw me a couple days post race.
What a surprise!!
Then he gave me these and it brought me to tears.
What an amazing friend!
Thank you Marc.

These are a few of my favorite things!

Speaking of Rasmus Henning....yup. I've got a lotta love for him too!!

Just another day with my boy "Ras"

There is a lot of white smile here!!
I still think we make a stunning pair--or we do we look too much like brother and sister??

Of course, I gotta mention "The Master"

With "THE COACH" Joe Friel

I was blessed to kick off Winter Base Training with advice from one of the best!!

Then there was this Kona Legend, Dave Scott, that I got to chat with and ask out on a lunch date (he said yes to all four of us by the way!!)

WoW!!
It has been a pretty amazing year!!
My 2011 season is coming to a close soon but I'm already planning next year!

-I wonder what Famous Faces I will see in 2012-

Who's Famous Face do you want to see most?

What "celebrity" have you been excited to meet??

be AWESOME

I'm hoping to be AWESOME today because, well...
I'm sad.

Lola has been sick since Thursday and I hate seeing my little girl sick.
Sad that I cannot make her better instantly.
Sad that she wakes up coughing and crying.
Sad that she cannot sleep through the night.
Selfishly sad that my training schedule has taken a total beating this week-
and not a "good" beating.
So today,
I'm going to be AWESOME.

Even if it means only 20 awesome minutes on the trainer.
Or two awesome miles on the treadmill.
Heck, I'll even take 100 awesome crunches!

How are YOU going to be AWESOME today?
