#bikestreak

My 30 day #bikestreak came to an end on Sunday, May 15th and I did manage to get in at least one mile every single day on the bike during #bikestreak.

The most miles were on day 29--60.4 miles

crossing the border back into Maine during The Budgetman 70.3 bike leg
The least miles were on days 9, 13, and 30--just one mile to meet my #bikestreak requirements

I also started riding my bike to and from work during #bikestreak, not just because of the challenge but
1) gas is $4.00 a gallon
2) I like riding my bike
3) I really riding my bike
and finally
4) I really, really like riding my bike

So I racked up
381.64 miles
during those 30 days and I can honestly say I enjoyed each and every one of them.
It has been rain, rain, rain here so I am using the car to get to work this week and I was not able to make my cycling class today (Tuesday's with Charlie) so I have not logged any miles in the last two days.
boo :(
But now we enter a new phase of my little #streak challenge.
Monday #runstreak started.
Same rules apply--I must run once daily and the minimum must be one mile!

The Budgetman 70.3 (and a winner!)

Hello!!

Life is crazy busy right now--in a good way--training is going really well and I am feeling fantastic. Lots of new mini-goals are taking shape, which of course I'll be sharing with you all very soon. I am so happy to be able to offer some more fun giveaways coming up too!

And now, it's time to announce the winner of the SocksAppeal.com giveaway!

There were 87 eligible entries for this contest.

To pick a winner this time, I asked my Dailymile Team Mate, Adina for help.

She picked number fiddy tree (as her hubby says)

that would be #53 to the rest of us!!

#53 was none other than COLLEEN
My favorite IRONDIVA
Please head on over to her blog and check it out if you do not already

Colleen is racing Rev3 Knoxville this weekend!! I wish I could be joining all of you Rev3's Racers this weekend--have a blast!!

This weekend I will be participating in a comical version of a half-iron distance race called
"The Budgetman 70.3"
Charles, tri club member and THE Charles from my Tuesday cycling class (Tuesday's with Charlie) has put together this fun race in prep for his Ironman Coeur d'Alene race in June--
It's only $10 to participate, there will be no course support, no timing, no directional signs, there are no medals, no sweeper vehicles, no USAT ref's, BUT you do get a Hane's cotton tee shirt with The Budgetman written in Sharpie on the front and the tri club members will bring a dish for a pot luck for after the "race".
Considering the water temp of Little Ossipee Lake is only 47* today, there may be a plan change for the swim portion of the race (?? the Y pool anyone). So, while I am not doing the entire "race", I'll be doing the 56 mile bike course and shooting for a 5 mile run post bike. It should be a fun morning!

Happy Training
