Run for the Fallen~Maine

I am so honored to be a part of this run this year. It will be my first time participating and I hope to run as long and as far as I can. The run starts in Ogunquit Maine and will finish in Portland. It is my goal to make it to Kilometer 40 (The Captain Christopher S. Cash honored kilometer).

I am running in honor of Captain Christopher S. Cash Sr. who was killed in Iraq in 2004. While I did not personally know Capt. Cash, I do know his mother, Nancy through her amazing work with the Run for Cash Memorial 5k. http://www.runforcash.org/

On the weekend of August 21/22, 2010, we are encouraging anyone, wherever they are, to go out and run/walk one mile for a fallen service member killed in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. Similar to our events in 2008 and 2009, we will post runs here, in order!, by state and country.
Our goal is to again have all 50 states participate. Last year, there were over 5,000 participants in 35 states and four countries, running a combined total of over 31,000 miles. Help us to continue to honor and remember our service members, bringing people and communities together. Together, let us Run for the Fallen.
